A Fresh Vision of the Christian Life

John 10:10 (NIV)…

I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the full.

Philippians 2:12–16 (CSB)

My dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, so now… in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God who is working in you both to will and to work according to his good purpose. 14 Do everything without grumbling and arguing, 15 so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world, 16 by holding firm to the word of life…

1.  You Are Responsible to Work with God to Live the Abundant Life

Romans 8:6 (NLT)

Letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

Colossians 3:2 (NIV)

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Ephesians 4:22–24 (NIV)

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

2.  Seek Abundant Life (Love, Joy & Peace), NOT Legalistic Perfection (not Sinning)

Galatians 5:22-23 NIV

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance [patience], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

“Being Resentful, Arrogant and Deceitful constitute the core of evil. If you are possessed by those things, it is Hell.” – Noted Clinical Psychologist.

3.  Develop Habits that Lead to Christ’s Love, Joy & Peace

Philippians 4:8–9 (NIV)

Whatever is true, … noble, … right, … pure, …lovely, …admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Ephesians 4:31–32 (NIV)

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
